YOU ASKED, I ANSWERED | Q & A

Hey y’all! I hope your week has been off to a great start so far! It’s been a little over a month since I launched my blog, and it’s been so fun getting to share my life with y’all! As I dive deeper and deeper into this blogging adventure, I thought this would be the perfect time to share a little bit more about me! I posted on my Instagram story requesting questions from my followers, anything you’d want to know about me! You asked and I answered. Here we go!

Are you a morning or a night person?
I’d have to say I’m a little bit of both. I love waking up early and having productive mornings, but on the weekends you can find me out late hanging with friends.

What’s your spirit animal?
I’d like to say Leslie Knope is my spirit animal. “Parks and Recreation” lovers will know what I’m talking about. But, if I had to pick an actual animal, it would be a peacock. When referring to spirit animals, a peacock can represent beauty, self-confidence, awareness, leadership, balance, and laughing at life. I’d like to think that this embodies who I am, and the qualities I strive to possess.

Sonic or McDonald’s? Go.
This question made me giggle so thanks for the laugh, Lyndsay! We recently attended a wedding out of town that was kind of in the middle of nowhere. It took us 25 minutes to drive to the nearest fast food restaurant for lunch! The two options were McDonald’s or Sonic. Even though that day I chose McDonalds, I’m going to have to go with Sonic as my favorite between the two!

What’s your favorite holiday?
This is seriously so hard! I’m going to list my top favorites. Christmas is without a doubt first. I love everything about the Christmas season. From Christmas movies to holiday parties, from gift giving to the beautiful decorations, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year! Next is Halloween. Ryan and I always go all out with couples costumes. There’s just something so fun about dressing up as something you’re not. And last but not least is Mardi Gras, the best New Orleans holiday where we celebrate New Orleans culture by parading in the streets for days on end!

What do you do for a living? What’s your full-time job?
I graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations, as well as a minor in Business Administration. After graduation I worked at a PR agency for two years. I currently work at my alma mater, Cabrini High School where I am the Director of Communications. I handle the school’s marketing, advertising, and public relations. I’ve been working there for two years now, and it’s so rewarding getting to serve and give back to the school that helped make me the woman I am today.

What’s your favorite dessert?
I LOVE sweets so much! If I had to choose my top dessert, I am going to go with bananas foster. The bananas, the ice cream, the sauce, the presentation of making it at your table. It’s the best! A close second would have to be bread pudding. When a restaurant has bananas foster bread pudding, you can call me Hannah Montana because I’ve got the best of both worlds.

How did you and your husband meet?
What’s so funny is that Ryan and I are both from New Orleans, our high schools were less than five minutes from each other, and we had multiple mutual friends, but we didn’t meet until we were students at LSU. Ryan and I officially met on February 19, 2012 at the LSU S.T.R.I.P.E.S. staff auditions. S.T.R.I.P.E.S. is an extended orientation program for incoming students where you learn the history and traditions of LSU. Ryan was one of the executive board members in charge of selecting the staff, which I was trying out for. He was grading performances when I walked into the room, and before I knew it, he had walked right up to me and started talking to me! I knew who he was from the year prior when I was a S.T.R.I.P.E.S participant and he was on staff, but he had no clue who I was. A week had gone by until I ran into him again out at a bar, which at this point in time I had made the S.T.R.I.P.E.S. staff. Ryan told me he was having people over after the bar closed if I wanted to come. Of course, I said yes! He was so charming! I found out after we had been dating for a couple of months that this “party” was actually an impromptu party he threw together once he ran into me that night so we could hang out. How sweet?! That night Ryan suggested we exchange phone numbers incase I ever had any questions for him about S.T.R.I.P.E.S. So smooth, Ry! We went on a bunch of dates after that, and he asked me to officially be his girlfriend on May 9, 2012.

How did Ryan propose to you?
Christmas time in New Orleans is always my favorite, but it’s even more special since December 22, 2016 when Ryan asked me to marry him with a magical Christmas proposal on the altar of the Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church. Ryan knew for a long time that this is where he wanted to propose to me as it’s his favorite church in the city, and he thought it would be so special to begin our engagement journey the same place where our marriage journey would begin. When I walked into the church, the aisle was lined with candles, the altar was draped with poinsettias, and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” was playing in the background, which became our first dance song. After the proposal, we walked across the street to The Roosevelt Hotel where Ryan had all of our closest friends and family waiting for us to celebrate at The Sazerac Bar. We kept the party going all night long with ending the night at the Piano Bar at Pat O’Brien’s. It was a night I will cherish forever!

Loved your wedding posts! Did you pick out your engagement ring or did your husband?
I get this question a lot and I have to give all of the credit to my amazing husband! Ryan used his resources wisely and found my Pinterest wedding board. He took some of the pins I saved of engagement rings to Ramsey’s Diamond Jewelers where he helped design my ring. I remember when he opened the ring box as he proposed to me, and I was in awe at how gorgeous it was. He really did such a good job!

What’s a fashion trend you hope never goes out of style?
Jean jackets! I am always wearing one. It’s my go-to accessory to add to any outfit. Even if they did go out of style, I would still rock it! See the one I’m wearing in the main picture of this post? That’s my jean jacket from 7th grade. It’s from GAP Kids!

Do you have any pet peeves?
This may seem so small to some people, but I can’t stand photobombers! It can take a while to gather people for a picture and then you take it, only to realize someone ruined it in the background.

What’s your go-to cocktail?
If I had it my way I would only drink margaritas! But because of all of the sugar and calories, I can’t. So typically my drink of choice is vodka, water, with extra lemons. And when I say extra lemons I mean at least three. I also love a good cosmopolitan when I’m feeling fancy. Thanks for introducing me, Tiff!

Name three random facts about yourself.
-I don’t like chocolate but my favorite cookie is Oreos.
-I have a patch of about eight silver hairs in my head. I’m basically Anna from “Frozen.”
-I can fall asleep anywhere: parties, cars, bars. I even fell asleep at an NSYNC concert when I was six years old. Slept like a baby through the entire thing.

How are you so0o0o FINNNEEE?
I think you all know who asked this question. Thanks for the confidence boost, Ryan J.!

Till next time!
